8th meeting of the Independent Regulators and Broadband Expert Working Group (IRB EWG)

The 8th meeting of the Independent Regulators and Broadband Expert Working Group (IRB EWG) of the EaPeReg Network (Eastern Partnership Electronic Communications Regulators Network) will be held on 3-4 October 2019 in Heraklion, Greece. The event will be organised the IRB EWG and funded by the European Commission.
The first day of the meeting will be dedicated to Independent Regulators matters and the second to Broadband Mapping. One of the key meeting objectives is to discuss the Methodology of assessment of the independent national regulatory authority (NRA) prepared by the EU4Digital team in cooperation with IRB EWG experts, agree the next steps to finalise the independence assessment Methodology and launch the independence assessment activities.
Additionally, participants will present the current status of the NRAs in the six Eastern Partner countries, and the legislative initiatives on regulatory governance that have taken place since the last meeting in April. The group will also discuss the current state of the Work Plan 2019 and discuss the draft Work Plan for 2020, which will be aligned with the plan presented by EU4Digital and World Bank experts related to the development of broadband in the EaP countries.The deadline for registration for the event is 15 September.
