The EaP Connect programme (2015-2020 – €13 million) supports connections between researchers and students from the Eastern Partnership and their European counterparts via a high-capacity broadband Internet network.
The project aims to:
establish and operate a high-capacity broadband internet network for research and education (R&E) across the six Eastern Partner countries;
integrate national research and education networks (NRENs) into the pan-European network, decreasing the digital divide;
facilitate participation of local scientists, students and academics in global R&E collaborations.
Improved high-speed digital connections have provided up to two million local scientists, students and academics at over 700 institutions with access to global research.
The EU4Digital Facility promotes key areas of the digital economy and society, in line with EU norms and practices. The Facility is implemented by a consortium led by EY, together with Action Global Communications and CEPS.
