On December 22, 2020 the EU4Digital eHealth team organised an event bringing together members of the eHealth Network from the six Eastern partner countries, in order to present the eHealth Interoperability guidelines and discuss their further use.

Interoperability is the ability of different systems, organisations or countries to exchange health information and use it meaningfully.

Participants at the online meeting included Eastern partner country ministries, eHealth Network representatives, stakeholders and EU Delegations. They were welcomed by EU4Digital Team Leader Arturas Piliponis.

The EU4Digital eHealth team shared key recommendations from the finalised Common EaP eHealth Harmonisation and Interoperability Guidelines. The aim was to propose actionable items to achieve an interoperable cross-border digital health infrastructure in the EaP region.

Participants also had an opportunity to share feedback, comments and additional views regarding the final version of the guidelines document. The event ended with eHealth stream representatives introducing planned events for 2021 to further support cross-border eHealth collaboration in the Eastern partner countries.
