The Framework law on Electronic Communications for Georgia was prepared by the EU4Digital Facility together with the Eastern Partnership Electronic Communications Regulators Network (EaPeReg) and contributes to strengthening the independence of National regulatory authorities (NRAs) of Georgia.
The proposed Framework law on electronic communications is pertinent to the regulatory system in Georgia, considering its legal specificities. The framework law focuses on two main dimensions: NRAs governance and their powers and obligations. Within this Framework law, there are all necessary norms ready for transposition to ensure full compliance with relevant requirements of the European Union.
This document is a sequel, bridging identified legislative gaps in the Gap assessment of Georgia regulatory system in the field of electronic communications and related recommendations highlighted under the Insights report on independence of National Regulatory Authorities in Eastern partner countries.
