Between January and September 2019, the market for fixed broadband Internet access services in Moldova registered a significant increase, with the volume of sales rising by 6.1% year-on-year to reach 1.16 billion lei. The number of subscribers also increased by 5.2% to reach 655,700. 

According to statistical data presented by the National Agency for Regulation in Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), the period saw a 10.6% increase in the number of subscribers connected on the basis of fibre optic technologies (FTTx), to reach 66.6% of the total number of subscribers.

The same data shows that just over half the subscribers to fixed Internet access services benefit from data access and transfer speeds between 30 and 100 Mbps, while 13.8% enjoy speeds over 100 Mbps. 

ANRCETI listed as follows the market shares per provider, according to turnover: Moldtelecom – 62.9%; StarNet – 21.5%; Orange Moldova – 5.3%; other suppliers 10.3%.
