A regional Cyber Security Forum takes place in the Moldovan capital Chisinau on November 19-20, supported by the European Union, as part of Moldova Cyber Week 2019.
The event takes place at the ICT Centre of Excellence in the ‘Tekwill’ area (9/11 Student str.), organised by the Technical University of the Republic of Moldova under the patronage of the Moldovan government.
Prime Minister Maia Sanduwill address the opening of the Forum on 19 November, together with senior representatives from abroad including Luc Devigne from the European External Action Service, Preetam Maloorfrom the International Telecommunication Union, and US Ambassador Dereck J. Hogan. World-renowned IT companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Kaspersky, Bitdefender, and Huawei will also be present at the forum.
There will be several panels of discussions on the most current topics of interest:
- Cyber Diplomacy;
- Reinventing cyber security at geopolitical level;
- The future of technology: forecasts and perspectives;
- From cyber security – to cyber immunity;
- Emerging trends in cyber security;
- NIS Directive in national legislation, Cybercrime – Action and Counteracting;
- Good practices regarding the implementation and implementation of cyber security policies of Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Georgia, Ukraine.
The second day of the forum on 20 November is devoted to workshops and practical exercises, during which participants will be able to improve their cyber-incident response capabilities by simulating cyber-attack scenarios with the task of finding the most appropriate solutions to crisis situations. The trainers involved in training are drawn from the private sector in Romania, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and Estonia.
The activities in this year’s edition will bring to the fore the role of the human factor and the importance of strengthening collaboration at regional level, the public-private sector and the academic environment, in order to align the capabilities and expertise of the participating organisations regarding incident management, raising awareness of potential threats and their remediation.
