After multiple rounds of public consultations, the 2023-2027 Strategy for Digital Transformation of the Republic of Moldova is ready for approval. EU4Digital experts, alongside a wide range of stakeholders, international donors, associations, public and private institutions, engaged in consultations regarding the Moldovan government’s vision for the next 7 years.

The digital strategy is focused on creating a dynamic and inclusive digital society in Moldova, characterised by advanced technological infrastructure, citizens who are proficient in digital skills, a government that fully embraces digitalisation, and a business sector that is able to capitalise on digital opportunities while fostering innovation and supporting human development.

“This strategy represents a complex overarching document to guide the government’s efforts in fostering a digital state, responsive to the needs of citizens and businesses, and built on fundamental European values,” Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova for Digitalisation, Iurie Turcanu, who is leading the development and further implementation of the strategy, said during the public consultations event. “The strategy targets all the key sectors, and cross-sectoral issues such as health, education, agriculture, economy, entrepreneurship, public administration, cybersecurity, etc.”

The Strategy for Digital Transformation of the Republic of Moldova is expected to be approved in the first quarter of 2023 and revised annually, to ensure its relevance and keep up with the constantly evolving technological landscape.
