New Ukraine Coordination Office for eHealth Development agrees 2023 activities

A new Coordination Office for eHealth Development will oversee electronic health care in Ukraine, under the leadership of the Ministry of Healthcare. In an introductory meeting on 22 December 2022, participants discussed the year-end results and agreed a roadmap for 2023. 

In the first meeting, summaries and results of 2021 were presented, in particular regarding the implementation of extended neonatal screening, electronic prescriptions for antibiotics and narcotic (psychotropic) drugs, pilot projects in telehealth development, as well as development of the eHealth system, the electronic integrated disease surveillance system, and the medical data system. 

The participants also reviewed and agreed the annual roadmap for 2023. This covers 107 digital healthcare projects, aimed at process automation for healthcare providers and the improvement of quality, accessibility and safety of medical services for patients. 

The new Coordination Office for eHealth Development will promote effective stakeholder communication, management of the eHealth system development, and improvement of resource planning.
