Presentation of the ‘Updated Informatics – IT Studios’ project
Date: 20/10/23
Students in Ukraine will experience more seamless information technology (IT) learning thanks to the ‘Updated Informatics – IT Studios’ project. The project is implemented within the EU4DigitalUA programme, financed by the European Union. On 26 September 2023, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine presented the project’s materials. These and updated educational resources are available to Ukraine’s educational institutions, professionals and all participants of the educational process via the Diia.Education platform. This systematised approach to IT learning is highly relevant for the Digital Skillsthematic network of the EU4Digital Facility.
During the presentation event, representatives of the ministries and EU4Digital UA were joined by experts from Google.org, the Eastern Europe Foundation, the international organisation Save the Children, Genesis, UNICEF, and the Kharkiv IT Cluster, as well as the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine. The participants discussed the project’s advantages, while the ministries in charge showcased the technical nuances of the platform and presented possibilities for integrating the ‘IT Studios’ in the overall educational process.
The ‘IT studios’ educational resources had been created in the previous academic year and piloted in 50 educational institutions with 70 teachers and more than 3000 students participating. The ‘Updated Informatics – IT Studios’ materials are now prepared for the entire general education system – in the primary, secondary and high schools. By the end of 2023, the platform’s functionality will expand. This will enable more than four million students in Ukraine to develop their competencies in digital communications, mathematics, social skills, foreign languages, life-long learning education, entrepreneurship and civil rights.
EU4DigitalUA is part of the European Union’s support to Ukraine and continues the work of the EGOV4UKRAINE project (2016-2021). EU4DigitalUA focuses on the development of digital government infrastructure, public e-services, cybersecurity and data protection.
