Minimizing the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak in Georgia through telemedicine and digital health solutions

The three-year EU-funded project Minimizing the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak in Georgia through telemedicine and digital health solutions is a partnership between the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). It aims to reduce the burden on the healthcare system (during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond) by introducing advanced service delivery approaches to provide equitable access for people in rural areas. The project focus is both to strengthen the technical capacities of the current healthcare system and to promote telemedicine solutions by means of training, legislative amendments, and communication. In doing so, the project contributes to creating a shift towards universal health coverage.
