Moldova aims for Digital State: 2023-2030 Digital Transformation Strategy
Date: 02/10/23
The Cabinet of Ministers in the Republic of Moldova has approved the Digital Transformation Strategy for 2023-2030. The approval, in early September 2023, is a significant step as the strategy sets out a comprehensive vision for the country’s digital development. The strategy centres on alignment with the European integration agenda and focuses on citizens’ needs.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalisation developed the strategy, which aims to promote sustainable development, build a digital society, establish a robust and competitive ICT sector, and develop an innovative and resilient digital economy. One goal is for all public services to be digitalised, facilitating a smoother and more efficient experience for citizens. Ultimately, the ambition is to establish an accessible, safe, and inclusive digital environment; create an efficient, intelligent, and transparent digital state; and consolidate the Republic of Moldova’s image as a digital nation.
Successful implementation requires collaborative effort from all parties involved: government institutions, the private sector, civil society and development partners. “Together, we can transform the Republic of Moldova into a modern and prosperous digital nation, ready for the challenges of the future,” said Mihai Lupașcu, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalisation.
Approval of the Digital Transformation Strategy 2023-2030 is a crucial step towards creating a better future for the Republic of Moldova; it reflects the country’s commitment to aligning with international standards and best practices in the digital realm.
