Armenia’s ‘Neruzh 4.0 Diaspora Tech Startup Program’ accepts grant applications
Date: 23/01/24
The Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry has accepted grant applications for the 2023 ‘Neruzh 4.0 Diaspora Tech Startup Program’. The participating tech companies that develop innovative high-tech product or service prototypes will be granted state funding, mentoring and training.
Since its launch in 2018, Neruzh—a start-up incubation project—has been contributing to the development of the digital sector in Armenia. The Neruzh programme is targeted at diaspora Armenians between the ages of 18 and 35, with the primary objective of providing young entrepreneurs with the opportunity to establish businesses in Armenia.
By featuring participating start-ups at international conferences, Neruzh has helped Armenian digital innovators gain recognition and exposure. By nurturing promising tech companies, Neruzh has made Armenia an attractive destination for foreign investment, which in turn has been crucial in financing the growth of Armenia’s digital sector. The mentoring and training programmes offered by Neruzh provide tech start-ups with key skills in fields such as programming, digital marketing and data science, contributing to the creation of a skilled labour force.
The funding offered by the current Neruzh programme is divided into two categories: ‘idea’ and ‘growth.’ The three successful candidate start-ups competing in the idea category will receive 15, 10 and 5 million Armenian dram in funding, respectively. These grants are intended for companies that are able to produce prototypes that leverage technology to address modern challenges. For the growth category, the three successful candidates will receive 30, 20 and 10 million Armenian dram, respectively. Selected start-ups in this category will present novel digital technologies.
