Register: ‘funding and promoting innovation ecosystem building and incubation’ events

Registration is open for two online events addressing the need to advance the performance of innovation incubators in the Eastern Partnership (EaP). The aim is to support national innovation ecosystem builders andincrease the success rate of converting ideas into sustainable companies. EU4Digital Facility is organising the events to raise awareness about funding and promoting the activities of ecosystem builders and empowering incubation. The complementary sessions will highlight the role of innovation ecosystem actors and their partnerships in building and delivering high-performing ecosystems andincubation services to startups.
Event 2: 8 August 2023
The role of the private sector in the development of the high-performance incubation in the EaP countries
Target audiences: Large corporations, representatives of academia and incubators, ICT innovation ecosystem builders and other ecosystem actors in Eastern partner countries.
Purpose: This event will bring together large corporations, academia and incubators, and raise awareness among corporations and academic representatives about the benefits of supporting high-performance incubation. It will focus on how the private sector and academia can ensure that incubators equip startups with scientific excellence and provide orientation to actual market needs.
Guest speakers: This session will welcome a guest speaker from the EU, who will share best practices in high-performance incubation, from the perspective of the private sector. The session will also feature a roundtable to exchange knowledge about EaP best practices.
Both events will be led by speaker Jesús Lozano, the key ICT innovation expert for EU4Digital, who has more than 28 years of experience as an entrepreneurial investor and over 15 years in developing incubation. He will outline the high-performance ecosystem and incubation framework and best practices, the Eastern partner countries’ status and biggest gaps in incubation, the roles and main responsibilities of ecosystem builders, and will elaborate on specific partnerships of innovation ecosystem actors.
The participants of both sessions will be introduced to the EaP Startup Ecosystem platform launched by EU4Digital in partnership with Dealroom in 2022. This connects startups with investors and other innovation ecosystem actors.
Event 1: 18 July 2023
Importance of supporting national ecosystem builders’ actions through donor funding
Target audiences: International donors, funding organisations, ICT innovation ecosystem builders and other ecosystem actors in Eastern partner countries.
Purpose: This event will bring together international donors and funding organisations with regulators and key innovation ecosystem builders across the EaP region. It will focus on how the collaborative effortsof national organisations along with the support of donor organisations and regulators can build a thriving ecosystem for the development of cutting-edge innovations.
Guest speakers: This session will welcome guest speakers from ANCES (Spain) and the Startup Moldova programme who will share their best practices in innovation ecosystem building.
