Armenian government and Amazon Web Services explore tech collaboration

Senior representatives of the Armenian government and Amazon Web Services (AWS) met on 29 November 2023, to discuss tech sector advancements and cooperation. AWS is a subsidiary of Amazon that provides on-demand cloud computing platforms and application programming interfaces (APIs) to individuals, companies, and governments.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan underlined the significance of partnership with AWS, observing that tech sector advancements were a key priority for the Armenian Government. He stated that ongoing cooperation and dialogue with AWS will facilitate the execution of collaborative projects.
Franco Spicciariello, the Director of Public Policy for AWS, overseeing Italy, East Central, South-Eastern Europe and CIS countries, expressed readiness to enhance engagement with Armenia. He disclosed that active negotiations were taking place with the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.
During the meeting, there was a significant emphasis placed on the initiation of digitisation programmes and on future plans regarding collaborative efforts in this particular field. This highlighted how critical these developments are to both parties, as well as exploring the substantial potential benefits that they could bring about through their joint endeavors.
