Young voices wanted! European Training Foundation #MySkills4You campaign
Date: 06/12/23
Young citizens from the Eastern Partnership (EaP) region are invited to contribute to the conversation of European Year of Skills through the #MySkills4You campaign. The European Training Foundation (ETF) launched the #MySkills4You initiative on 4 December 2023 to amplify the voices and digital prowess of young people in Europe’s Eastern and Southern Neighbourhoods and the Western Balkans. With vibrant videos on Instagram, the campaign highlights their perspectives on crucial digital skills developments in their countries and the importance of investing in skills in these regions.
The #MySkills4You initiative seeks to answer fundamental questions:
What do young people think are the most important skills?
What are their countries doing to support skills development?
Continuing until April 2024, the campaign encompasses a diverse range of digital skills and talents, each contributing to the broader narrative of skills development in the respective regions. For example, the videos cover: a holistic approach in data science in Moldova;self-improvement and proactive digital engagement in Ukraine; the vital role of communication and teamwork skills in Georgia; digital resilience for transformative change in Serbia; promoting creative IT skills to empower local communities in Montenegro; public speaking and digital leadership for youth empowerment in Egypt; and balanced public speaking and STEM advocacy examples from Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The initiative spotlights various digital skillsets, including data science, STEM advocacy, and creative IT skills. Together, the contributors’ voices harmonise, championing a digitally skilled and interconnected future.
The #MySkills4You initiative is open to all to contribute their perspectives on digital skills development, using the hashtag #MySkills4You.
The European Year of Skills aims to address skills gaps in the European Union and boost the EU skills strategy, focusing on digital and green technology skills and supporting skills-related activities and events.
The European Training Foundation (ETF) is the European Union agency that supports neighbouring countries in reforming their education, training, and labour market systems. It currently collaborates with 28 partner countries, mainly in the context of EU enlargement and neighbourhood policies.
