The EU4Digital eHealth stream held a virtual event on eHealth strategy and cross-border eHealth service piloting on 27 April 2023. It was the first virtual meeting in a series of collaboration events planned for this year, setting the ground for meaningful collaboration towards eHealth development in Eastern partner countries.

The government of the Republic of Moldova has approved a draft law ratifying the country's association with the European Union’s EU4Health programme. Participation in EU4Health will give access to EU funding to strengthen Moldova’s health system, including aspects related to digital transformation.

The EC is inviting feedback on a draft act regarding key performance indicators (KPIs) of progress towards the Digital Decade policy programme 2030. These KPIs are to be used to measure underlying trends at the national as well as European level. After multiple rounds of public consultations, the 2023-2027 Strategy for Digital Transformation of the Republic of Moldova is ready for approval. EU4Digital experts alongside a wide range of stakeholders, international donors, associations, public and private institutions, engaged in consultations regarding the Moldovan government's vision for the next 7 years

The Digital Decade policy programme 2030 has entered into force. The European Parliament, Member States and the European Commission have jointly set concrete objectives and targets in four key areas in this strategic vision for the development of the digital economy.

Healthcare professionals and institutions in Ukraine can manage their supplies and procurement of medical goods using a new digital system, ‘e-Stock’. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine, along with the Medical Procurement Agency of Ukraine, launched a pilot of the e-Stock information management system in January.

A new Coordination Office for eHealth Development will oversee electronic health care in Ukraine, under the leadership of the Ministry of Healthcare. In an introductory meeting on 22 December 2022, participants discussed the year-end results and agreed a roadmap for 2023.

To deliver on the European Union’s goals for digital transformation, more than €4.5 billion will be available in the 2023-24 Horizon Europe work programme - more than 33% of the total work programme budget.

Achievements and plans of EU4Digital projects were reviewed in the 2022 EU4Digital Initiative Steering Committee meeting on 25 October, which marked the kick-off of the EU4Digital Facility Phase II.

Resilience, crisis response and recovery were the focus of the EU4Digital 2022 Eastern Partnership Digital Conference on 24 October, which zoomed in on priorities for digital transformation of the EaP region.

More than 200 scientists, policy makers, research managers and computing and network experts met in Baku for EaPConnect’s EaPEC 2022 conference on 28-29 September.

To mark the re-launch of the EU4Digital Facility, the EU4Digital Initiative is organising the Eastern Partnership Digital Conference on 24 October, and the EU4Digital Phase II Kick-off and Steering Committee meeting on 25 October 2022.
