More than a thousand people in 76 mountain villages in Georgia have been connected to the Internet as part of a government project to support the development of mountain regions.
The Pshav-Khevsureti and Gudamakari Community Internet Project is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, with the involvement of the the High Mountains Settlement Development Fund, Internet Society (ISOC) and the Georgian Small and Medium Telecommunications Operators Association.
As a result of the project, 76 villages of the Pshav-Khevsureti and Gudamakari regions, 496 families and 1,291 residents will be covered by the Internet.
