Date:
14/11/23 to 15/11/23
Registration is open for the 2023 Digital Conference for the Eastern Partnership. EU4Digital Facility is organising this online event at 10:00-12:00 CET on 14 November to highlight and support digital transformation in the Eastern partner countries. This year, the conference’s central theme is ‘Digital strategic autonomy: leveraging digital technologies to empower societies and economies’. Anyone interested in participating will be welcome: please sign up!
This, the third annual EU4Digital Digital Conference will be followed by a closed meeting of the EU4Digital Steering Committee on 15 November 2023. Together, these are among the main events dedicated to discussing the joint European Union (EU)-Eastern Partnership (EaP) digital agenda. These yearly events strengthen the relationship between EU4Digital Facility and its stakeholders from Eastern partner countries and EU Member States. In this way, stakeholders are empowered to increase their engagement with and ownership of the results generated by the project.
Why participate?
Under this year’s theme, the 2023 EU4Digital Digital Conference will combine the emerging topics of data and artificial intelligence with the well-established topic of digital connectivity as a key enabler of developing digital economy and society. The event will feature:
A keynote presentation by Ott Velsberg, Estonia’s Chief Data Officer: ‘Unlocking the potential of data and AI: building a smarter tomorrow’
A panel discussion between representatives of Eastern partner countries: ‘From infrastructure to innovation: a look at connectivity in the EaP region’
Welcome and other remarks by representatives of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations DG NEAR / Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology DG CONNECT.
The Digital Conference and Steering Committee meeting together have the following objectives:
Empower stakeholders to take a more active role in the project’s implementation, by deepening their understanding and ownership over EU4Digital Initiative activities and results;
Promote open discussion about how to foster and accelerate the embedding of EU4Digital activities and results into stakeholders’ bilateral and national agendas;
Provide the opportunity for stakeholders to discuss the project, exchange use-cases and ideas, and to steer the activities in its six thematic areas.
For EU stakeholders, the events provide opportunities to discuss digital topic developments with country representatives from across the EaP region.
