Competition on mobile robotic systems and the Internet of Things in Chisinau
Date: 13/12/19
An international competition on mobile robotic systems and the Internet of Things (IoT) is taking place on 12-13 December at the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics in Chisinau.
The ‘EARTH ROVER: Connecting Things – 2019’ competition this year also features six teams from abroad (from Romania the Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iaşi, and from Ukraine the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, and the National Technical University of Vinnytsia).
The competition involves the integration of mobile robotic systems and IoT technologies and is dedicated to science and technology, and the training of young people passionate about robotics, mechatronics, automation, electronics and programming.
The challenge of the competition is to develop a system within 24 hours, based on a set of devices offered by the organisers, to simulate the behaviour of a living being providing company, education, or monitoring, guidance and command services.
Teams will have the opportunity to test their ideas on the layout of an apartment with the simulation of different situations (gas leak, smoke, open fire, temperature, humidity, etc.).
