Building on the success of the first EaPConnect Cybersecurity workshop, which took place in Berlin on 27-28 June 2018, this second event, rescheduled for 2-3 September 2020 (TBC) in Tbilisi will go into more technical areas of cybersecurity. Local host GRENA will present an overview of its cybersecurity activities, alongside guests from other EaP and EU organisations. Discussion sessions will explore the topics and opportunities in more depth.
Cybersecurity is of vital importance to border countries, such as those in the Eastern Partnership (EaP). This event will introduce activities and contact people from the EU-funded projects CyberSec4Europe and GN4-3, the GÉANT project. What is needed for the EaP region and how can people from EaP organisations become more involved?
This workshop is open for around 25 people with a relevant technical background working in the area of cybersecurity who will be able to discuss details of the GN4-3 work package on cybersecurity. EaPConnect project partners can request funding support to attend the event; other interested parties are welcome but would need to cover their own costs.
The EaPConnect project aims to create a regional research and education network in the EU’s Eastern Partner countries namely Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The overall objective is to decrease the digital divide, improve intra-regional connectivity and facilitate the participation of local scientists, students and academics in global research and education collaborations.
